Job Description:

Long-Term Sub - Upper School Science Teacher

Worcester Academy is looking for a dynamic educator with a love for Upper School students and experience with multicultural curriculum and pedagogy, and a willingness to collaborate with others, to fill in from August 19, 2020 for approximately 12 weeks. Compensation is $100 per Diem through the first 20 instructional days, and then step structure based on experience and education. We offer an opportunity to work in a positive and stimulating classroom environment with eager, engaged learners with an average class size of 14.

Core Responsibilities/Expectations

  • Teach four sections of US Science (two Biology and two Chemistry)
  • Advise a group of up to 10 students
  • Complete grading, comments, and progress reports in a timely manner
  • Adhere to departmental expectations
  • Regularly attend scheduled faculty meetings
  • Attend all school events and functions as assigned by the Head of School
  • Maintain open communication with parents
  • Facilitate parent conferences
  • Attend Parents night
